Learning about passwords

Today we had a busy day on the laptops.

First of all, we learnt about passwords.  Mrs Bradshaw had a few nifty ideas about how to create a password to make sure that:

  • we could remember it
  • it had a capital letter
  • was 8 characters long
  • included numbers
One example we used, was to choose our favourite town and then add an element of our birth date, either the year, month or day we were born.

We also included things like streets we had lived on, our pets names and a range of relevant dates.

We created 3 different passwords, because we know that you are often given 3 opportunities to type in a password before you get locked out.

Hopefully we will be able to remember our passwords, because we know that Mrs Bradshaw is unable to remember 90 passwords for the whole class.

  1. That's really helpful I always have trouble with people guessing my passwords right!
Now I'll make a harder password!!
